So... this past Tuesday, I came home to find my front door bashed in. I went inside my place to find that I am no longer a proud owner of a Playstation3 or an XBox360. After further investigation, I also noticed that I no longer had my Intos3, my 30" monitor... and my LAPTOP!!! SERIOUSLY!? WHO DOES THAT?! Front doors don't protect us anymore?! Sigh... I was thinking that entire time..."Hmm, well it could be worse... they could've shat over everything, and ripped up all my clothes... "
Then I realized... I don't have renters insurance... and I didn't back up ANYTHING that was in my laptop. I was working on a new book, and I had about a hundred or so paintings that I was working on (okay, maybe a dozen, but a hundred sounds more epic)... ALL GONE. FOREVER.
So... if anything, I implore you guys, back up your stuff... and for GOODNESS SAKES, have RENTERS INSURANCE. Okay, a post wouldn't be complete without some drawings, so here they are... (at least what I have on me... )
The first three were drawn from photo ref from the CharacterDesigns.com photoset. Great great resource! I had a blast doing them. BTW, these are photos taken from my iPhone, so I apologize for their lack of clarity. And, does anyone else think that the HDR function really blows? I certainly do...

Damn! that really sucks!!!! I've just become a fan of your art and to find some Jerk ran off with what might have been some of the best inspiration the world has seen is hugely frustrating! Not to mention the PS3 that's hard to live without.

Wow that is really horrible that someone would do that! I am taking it no one saw this happening. That really sucks...I can imagine how you feel. I would feel naked without an Xbox and especially a laptop...WITH YOUR WORK ON IT! That really really really really "really," sucks! You get to keep going on in life with your talents though, that is the good thing.
I'm just going to say that people like you inspire me. I wish I could go to art school so I could learn some new "mad skillz." I do what I can without art school and I am just enrolled in college for General Studies. I try and teach myself what I can on my own, and that is by studying artists like YOU...well your art of course. haha.
Keep doing what you are doing. It is working.

Sorry to hear your stuff got nicked; here is a pro-tip to keep the next one: DynDNS + VNC
DynDNS (or any other dynamic updater; NoIP etc) can act like Lo-Jack for your laptop, giving you a domain it will be at whenever its online.
VNC (aka Remote Desktop) of some variety will give you access once the laptop is online again.
Can be a little complicated to set up, but makes recovery a bit easier. Sadly, I don't have any tips for getting this one back.
